Woman Swallows Engagement Ring in Her Dreams, Wakes Up to Realize She Actually Did

Have you ever had a dream so vivid you think it was real, then wake up to realize some parts of it actually happened in real life? That’s what a lot of sleepwalkers experience.

But one woman took dreaming to the ultimate level when she dreamed about swallowing her engagement ring, only to realize upon waking up that she actually did it! LOL.

Jenna Evans of San Diego, California, shares the amusing tale of how she swallowed her ring in a dream.

In this particular dream, she and her fiancé Bob Howell were riding on the train when some guys boarded their carriage and took things from the passengers. Seeing that the guys were heading their way, Bob told Jenna to swallow her engagement ring to keep it safe; it’s the safest way to hide the piece of jewelry from these guys, definitely!

When she woke up, Jenna was thankful that it was only a vivid dream but was surprised to see that the ring was gone from her finger! She immediately searched for it around the bed and in her closet but would soon realize that she had actually swallowed the ring just like in her dream! Uh-oh.

On Wednesday morning, I realized my ring was not on my hand and had to wake Bob Howell up and tell him that I swallowed my engagement ring. I don’t think he believed me right away,” Jenna shared.

The 29-year-old lady and her fiancé had a good laugh over the matter, with Bob saying he couldn’t believe his sweetheart actually did it. After about an hour and a half of laughing about the hilariously unbelievable situation, the two realized they had to go to the ER.

We laughed pretty hard for about an hour and a half, called my mom, laughed until we were crying, googled ‘do other adults swallow rings’ because kids do it all the time, but apparently it’s less common for adults.

I went to urgent care where I struggled to explain why I was there, because I was laughing/crying so hard. The doctor ordered an X-ray and seemed pretty shocked when she walked back in with a second doctor and showed me that sure enough, my ring was right there in my stomach! They called a gastroenterologist and decided it would be best NOT to let nature take its course. (Thank God) Before I left, she recommended seeing a sleep specialist as well.

A team of doctors eventually decided that Jenna should undergo upper endoscopy to retrieve the ring. At this point, she was already feeling some pain from the ring, but the procedure was a success.

But though she owns the ring, the doctors had a good laugh as they handed it to Bob who kept it for a while, saying he wasn’t sure if he should give it back because Jenna might eat it again! LOL.

Bobby finally gave my ring back this morning – I promised not to swallow it again, we’re still getting married and all is right in the world,” Jenna jokingly ended her post.

Best wishes to you both! Hope Jenna won’t be swallowing any more rings in the future, including her wedding ring!
