A TV host known for being the co-host of the now-defunct “Mythbusters” show was able to make an Iron Man suit that actually flies – and the resulting video has wowed netizens, with some saying that they hope one would be available for them to buy soon, at an affordable price, of course!
Adam Savage is, perhaps, best known for his long stint at co-host of “Mythbusters”, a show that investigated and attempted to debunk rumors, popular myths, and urban legends.
After the show ended, Savage would later get his own show, “Savage Builds”. The new show is similar to Mythbusters but he no longer just busts myths. Instead, he builds things that people might be curious about – for example, the Iron Man suit.
With billions of people being fans of the movies on Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), many are curious whether many of the weapons and costumes could actually work in real life. The Iron Man suit is certainly one of the most popular costumes to copy by cosplayers; thus, a curious Savage also wanted to try building it for real.
With the help of experts, Savage was able to create the costume from 3D-printed titanium parts. Patterned after the Iron Man Mark II armor, down to the placement of all the pieces and various movable parts, the results are quite impressive. Though not painted in the Iron Man colors used by Tony Stark, the suit still looks impressive.
To make it fly, however, they borrowed technology from Gravity Industries, with founder Richard Browning being the one who tried on the Iron Man suit – and he made it fly! The video truly amazed netizens who can’t believe that it was possible.
Of course, the Iron Man suit that Savage and these experts made isn’t powered the same was as the ‘real’ Iron Man suit in the movies but it is really impressive to see it in action…
