It was raining heavily when Patrick Mariano noticed a truck stop across their home. He was curious as to why the truck had stopped but was surprised to see that the truck driver and his companions were buying ice cream from an old man despite the heavy rain.
The old man was wearing a raincoat, but the heavy rain was surely making him feel cold. As he watched, Patrick was surprised to see that the driver and his companions appeared to buy everything from the old man!
There were just a handful of them and the ice cream would surely melt before they reached their destination if they don’t eat these all. But it turned out that they were doing a good deed for the old man so he could go home now that all his goods were sold out.
Patrick snapped some photos of the old vendor and the kind truck crew, tagging their company in his post on Facebook.
“Shalom Organic Fertilizer, salute to you for reminding us that a small act of kindness can bring enormous impact on someone else,” he wrote.
“Seeing you do that gesture from a far without you knowing it inspired us to do better for other people. God sees your heart and may God bless your business MORE!”
After the post went viral, people commented about the old vendor’s family and called them heartless for letting this old man go out to sell ice cream despite his age. However, Patrick learned that this old vendor simply wants to sell because it is something that he is used to doing for decades. His family didn’t stop him because it’s something that makes him happy.
Kudos to these kind delivery truck crew for helping this old vendor…
