She has been one of the most popular female cosplayers in China, but CROME revealed that she’s actually a guy! After seeing her many gorgeous pictures, we’re quite shocked that he managed to do everything without anyone discovering the truth about his identity much earlier than the big reveal!

CROME admits to being an art teacher but he already left that life after finding his calling as a female cosplayer and earning much more from this job.

It was in 2007 when he began to secretly try on female clothes but didn’t start sharing photos as female cosplayer until 2012. By then, he was already comfortable with wearing female outfits and makeup. Moreover, he was earning good money on his job and could already afford to buy costumes, makeup, wigs, and other things he needed for the cosplay.

At that time, I was already working and living by myself, so I was able to buy things like makeup and accessories from my salary. That year I built up the courage to attend by first cosplay event. There was this female anime character I really liked, and I just wanted to try to cosplay as her. That was it!” CROME narrated.

So, he easily passed for female and would quickly grow followers on Weibo, China’s most popular social media app. Soon, CROME had thousands of fans and followers. Today, he has gained nearly 130k followers on Weibo alone.

Everyone thought CROME is a real woman for she truly looks like one! He even got invited to many females-only cosplay events which he attended, of course.

Imagine the surprise everyone felt after learning that CROME is actually a guy! His pictures as CROME showed no indication that he’s male! He’s such an amazing cosplayer. You’ve got to admire him for that.

But CROME admits that on ordinary days, he’s really just dressed as an ordinary male with t-shirts and jeans or shorts. Dressing up as a female character is simply too much hard work, he said, but he does make a living out of cosplaying and has even quit his job as art teacher because this one earns him more. Wow.
