In the Philippines, you would see a lot of Filipina ladies who have boyfriends or husbands who are foreigners.
While there are those who do marry for love or had met their foreigner partners while they had been working abroad, many of these Filipina ladies really sought out the foreigners in hopes of living a more comfortable life. After all, even foreigners considered as ‘poor’ in their countries could easily become ‘rich’ in the Philippines because of the exchange rate.
But there are also individuals who prey on foreigners, pretending they are in love but are really just planning on getting money.
One Pakistani guy furiously shared on Facebook screenshots of his chat messages and video calls with a Pinay woman.
According to Arshad Jutt Karlo, he sent money to his Filipina girlfriend but when the woman received the cash, she blocked him! Ouch.
The woman, a certain “J Ann” on Facebook, was supposedly Arshad’s girlfriend. The girl had led him along into thinking she was in love with him and excited for them to get married.
While Arshad did not indicate how long they had known each other or how long they had been in a ‘relationship’, it must have been long enough for him to trust the woman that he would readily send her money.
J Ann messaged Arshad, asking for his help because her father was in the hospital. As he felt that he was so in love with J Ann and wants to prove that he really loves her, Arshad readily sent his girlfriend some money which amounted to several thousand pesos.
After taking the money at the remittance center, the woman told him she would go to the hospital. But after that, he could no longer reply to the conversation – and that meant she had blocked him! Tsk. Tsk.
