New CPA Attends Oathtaking Ceremony, Finds Out Their House Burned to the Ground

A newly licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) had just attended his oathtaking ceremony. It was supposed to be one of the best days in his life, but it quickly turned devastating when he learned that they house burned to the ground.

In a post that has gone viral on Twitter, a guy named Wiwel (user @aretheyy) shared a photo of his downtrodden friend posing with his new PRC ID with his house in the background – or what’s left of the house, anyway.

According to Wiwel, his friend Joshua attended his oathtaking ceremony last June 17.

It was a breath taking day as it was the day they’ve dreamed of-or so they thought…” Wiwel wrote.

Right after taking his oath, Joshua received a message that their house was on fire. He was not even able to take photos with his friends or his new license; he rushed home to Binangonan, Rizal but the house had already burned to the ground.

What’s worse is that nothing much was saved from the house, including his documents and the clothes he needed as he would start his job the following day.

Taking pity on his friend, Wiwel posted Joshua’s photo on his Twitter account with a plea for help and donations for the family, particularly some clothes for them. A great friend, Wiwel even offered to pick up donations or accept drop-offs at his place in Antipolo or at SM Taytay Foodcourt if donors could not drive as far as Binangonan.

Several netizens quickly offered clothes as donations or money to help Joshua and his family. The spirit of bayanihan lives on!
