COVID-19 has greatly affected people and businesses across the world. Many businesses lost a lot of money after losing their customers because people were no longer allowed to go out of their homes.
Somewhere in Malaysia, mall employees were shocked to find mold all over the expensive leather goods on display after 2 months of lockdown! Most of the items on display were overgrown with mold that this is surely a huge blow to the shop!
Nex Nezeum from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, shared the sad photos of the ruined leather products from the mall. The items were also rather expensive, but the goods have been so overgrown with mold that it’s possible there would be discoloration of the material even if the employees might manage to clean the items.
What’s worse is that these items are so expensive! One small bag held a price tag for RM679 (Php7,900 or US$157). Ouch.
Many netizens commented that the workers should have carefully wrapped the items and stored them properly before the movement control order (MCO) was imposed in Malaysia, but others believe that everyone was really just caught by surprise and didn’t think the lockdown would last for a long time.
It really is sad to see these items ruined by the prolonged lockdown but many jokingly said that at least the buyers are assured that they are buying genuine leather.
But many were concerned that the store employees appear to have no idea how to store genuine leather products and might not be able to advise customers how to store theirs in the future. Uh-oh.
Others half-jokingly asked the mall for 80% discounts or even free items, saying that the items are wasted anyway but they could still revive the goods at home… Would you still buy these leather products after the mold cleanup?
