Iza Calzado Thanks Helper Who Didn’t Leave Even After She was Diagnosed with COVID

Actress Iza Calzado survived her battle with COVID-19. She certainly has a lot to be thankful for – and one of the people who helped her make it through is Donna Garcia, their helper of over 2 years.

In the pilot episode of Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo’s “Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan”, Iza recalls the struggles she experienced while sick. She explained that aside from her husband, she was inspired to keep going by her younger brother who’s just 16 years old.

Aside from thanking her family for making her feel strong even during the most difficult moments, she also thanked Donna who did not leave their side. She has been with the family for 2 and a half years.

After her family learned that Iza is positive for COVID-19, they feared for her safety because she was exposed to the actress. They wanted her to go back home immediately. But Donna felt that it is her duty to stay with the actress’ family and help them out, especially during this difficult moment in their life.

So, Donna stayed. Her family begged her to come home but she chose her duty. It was her responsibility, Donna explained.

For that, Iza could never thank her enough. The actress felt that the helper had chosen them over her family – and that’s a really special thing! So, on the show, she gives Donna a key to their house as a symbol that she is part of their family. She is no longer just a worker, just a helper to the family but already part of the family.

Iza told Donna that she is welcome anytime at their home and that they are so grateful to have her with them.

The feature then shifts to Donna and how her life had been difficult after she and her 2 kids were left by her husband. She did not find much help from her family but an old couple ‘adopted’ her and her kids. To thank them, Donna gave a rosary.

In turn, the old couple shares the struggle they experienced to build and managed their business. In turn, they also expressed thanks to the person who helped them out.

The show follows through a chain of gratitude, making it different from the usual shows. Check this out:
