“Ito Lang? Kuripot Naman!” OFW Slams People Who Aren’t Content with ‘Pasalubong’

Bringing ‘pasalubong’ is something that is already a part of the Filipino culture. In fact, it is part of the culture so much that we have come to expect ‘pasalubong’ from those who go on a trip, especially those who come from abroad!

Aside from sending a ‘balikbayan box’ every year, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are often expected to bring ‘pasalubong’ for everyone. That often means bringing chocolates, soap, perfume, and even more expensive items like bags and shoes! What’s sad, though, is that not everyone knows how to appreciate what the OFWs bring them as pasalubong.

What’s worse, everyone expects to receive something expensive from the OFW and are not content with receiving just a pack of chocolates or a bar of soap. Everyone just wants to have more, especially after learning that someone else got a new bag or a pair of expensive shoes or something that is worth more than what they received!

Perhaps too tired of hearing people angrily telling him that he’s ‘kuripot’ and doesn’t know how to share his blessings as OFW, one guy posted about it on his Facebook account – and a lot of people actually agreed…

Raymond Lopez, an OFW in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia wrote:

Do you agree?
