Good Samaritans had to break the window of a Suzuki Ertiga parked near business establishments after passersby discovered that there were two children, a baby and a toddler, left inside the hot car by their parents!
Facebook page Philippines CCTV & DASH CAM Spotted shares a video showing how some traffic officers tried their best to open the car window via other means that won’t damage the glass. But time was running out and the other concerned citizens pointed out that the kids were already sweating profusely and appeared to be looking unwell.
Considering that kids’ bodies heat up as much as 5x faster than adults’ bodies, leaving them inside a hot car could be fatal! So, the concerned citizens were truly worried that the kids’ bodies might already be overheating – and that could lead to multiple organ failure.
Seeing that the children’s dad is nowhere to be seen, the traffic officers decided to break the car window in order to save the baby and his older sister who’s really just a toddler.
Quickly, the traffic officers tried their best to smash the car window without also endangering the children who are seated at the back.
As soon as the window at the driver’s seat was opened, an officer opened the central lock while another rushed to open the back. The baby’s car seat was removed and hurriedly carried to a nearby air-conditioned business establishments so the baby can quickly cool down. An officer also gave the child some water.
Another officer carried the elder sister to safety. Some of the officers also found tissue paper to wipe the children’s backs since their clothes were already soaked from too much sweating inside the hot car!
A lot of people breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that the kids were alright but slammed the parents for leaving the children inside that hot vehicle! This could have ended really badly.
Parents, guardians, babysitters, and any dealing with children are advised to never ever do this to children or even pets!
A closed car with the air conditioning turned off can heat up more quickly than you think – and thousands of kids have perished in this manner, just because someone forgot they were in the car or purposedly left them there “for a few minutes”, not realizing how the situation can change so quickly.
