The COVID crisis has affected everyone in one way or another. For instance, a lot of farmers were forced to simply throw away their vegetables because they are not able to sell them.
But there are farmers who also found ways to solve this problem by selling their products online or creating their own mobile markets to sell their fresh farm products.
At Pampanga, Lanang in Davao City, fronting Dusit Thani, a farmer sells packs of assorted vegetables for a very affordable price of Php100. Each pack already contains a lot of vegetables that you can cook for pinakbet, chopsuey, or some other vegetable dish.
Netizen Abi Araullo Intia was able to buy the vegetables from the farmer, later identified as Tatay Crizaldo. Abi was so amazed by the cheap prices of these vegetables that she shared some photos of Tatay Crizaldo and his fresh vegetables from his farm in Kapatagan.
According to Abi, the farmer and his family sets up their mobile market every afternoon at that spot. After the post went viral, many people flocked to the spot to buy the farmer’s affordable vegetables! His family is thankful for Abi but also a bit overwhelmed by the popularity they found on social media.
It is amazing how one netizen could help this farmer get more sales on their farm products!
A lot of netizens feel a bit jealous that they can’t buy these cheap vegetables because they live far but others encouraged the buyers to pay extra, knowing the farmers are selling the vegetables for very cheap prices because they really have no choice. It’s better to sell at ‘bagsak presyo’ rather than throw away their produce.
