What do you want more: a grand mansion or a nipa hut? Well, the answer would depend upon the individual, but for many Filipinos, living in a nipa hut feels great because it is cool, cheaper to build and maintain, and can actually look beautiful if you know how to design the space.
Take for example this dreamy nipa hut shared by Bresa Buccat Bernardo Ibasitas of Pozorrubio, Pangasinan. For a budget of Php70,000, Ibasitas and her family were able to build this nipa hut that comes with modern interiors, including air conditioning and a soft queen-sized bed.
On the outside, this nipa hut has bamboo walls and a native roof wrapped with a net to make it last longer. The gorgeous porch is also made of bamboo, with built-in benches and furniture to match.
But inside, the room looks modern and appears to have walls made of concrete; though the reality is that this is actually made of plywood.
When Ibasitas got the native house, they decided to decorate it with this stylish modern concept. The bed is on the platform like space that extends to one wall to create a built-in bench or long shelf.
Grey is used as final paint color for the walls but artsy designs were also painted. Quite amazingly, these designs look fantastic and looks easy to DIY, too! Just make sure to use masking tape to create a clean design, just like what the family did while painting the walls of this gorgeous nipa hut.
To complete the modern look, they opted for sliding glass windows, air conditioning, and RGB LED lights along the ceiling line. The results are quite fantastic!
