Despite Family Not Celebrating Christmas, Employer Surprises OFW with Noche Buena and Gifts

While Christmas is a big event for Filipinos, it is not celebrated in all countries in the world, such as in the Middle East and other Muslim countries.

But even in places where Christmas is not celebrated, there are thoughtful employers who treat their employees with a Christmas celebration to make them enjoy the season even if they can’t go home to spend this with family.

Edrey John Abalo has been working for her employer for over 2 years. Though she’s already eligible for a vacation, the COVID-19 crisis has prevented her from going home. This Christmas, she felt sad that she was not able to spend time with her family, yet her employer made her feel happy after surprising her with a Noche Buena feast and some gifts.

Abalo’s employer bought a KFC bucket meal and other treats for her Noche Buena. Despite her own family not celebrating Christmas, this thoughtful employer even got gifts for Abalo, including a beautiful gold necklace.

Thank you po!”

It’s great that this employer is kind and thoughtful to this OFW who was unable to go home for Christmas.
