Customer Still Pays GrabFood Driver Even after He Ruined the Order Because He Slipped in Rain

We hear so many stories of customers pranking GrabFood drivers or simply not showing up to get the order; thereby not paying the driver for the food he paid out of his own pocket! But one customer went viral for doing the opposite thing – she pays the GrabFood driver who messed up the order because he slipped in the rain!

Shy Atienza shared that it was around 10PM when she posted an order for two milk tea on GrabFood. The driver confirmed the delivery; thus, she prepared the payment and waited for the order to arrive.

Some minutes later, the driver messaged her that he’s running late for the delivery because it was raining hard and he’s stuck in traffic. Understanding what the driver is going through, Atienza did not mind.

But at around 11PM, the driver messaged her again to inform her that he will be dropping the order because he slipped in the rain and her order was ruined. It was a good thing he did not hit his head on the ground, but her order was no longer fit for delivery.

Considering that the driver paid over Php300 for the order on her behalf, Atienza decided to still pay him even if the order was ruined. After all, it was not his fault that it was raining hard and he slipped; it was an accident.

Back at her condo, Atienza met the GrabFood driver. She told him earlier that she’d pay him half the amount just to make sure he won’t feel too shy and embarrassed that he might just drop the order. But she already readied the full amount, plus a jacket because she knew he was wet after slipping in the rain.

He revealed that he was already at Atienza’s condo at Coco Rockwell Business Center Ortigas and trying to find her unit on the second floor when he slipped. He really felt embarrassed over the accident but thankful that Atienza did not get angry.

Instead of letting him drop the order and say goodbye to his money and the effort he spent to bring the order, Atienza still paid him and even got him a jacket for free!
