Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go happily shares his joy after learning that his son, Christian Lawrence Go, placed 3rd in the October 2019 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examination.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has released the results of the October 2019 CPA board exam where the younger Go placed third with a rating of 89.50%. Christian’s achievement was made even more impressive by the fact that only about 14.32% of the examinees passed.
The younger Go ranks third of the 2,075 who became CPAs out of 14,492 who took the CPA board exam.

A lot of netizens were surprised by Christian’s achievement, but everyone who knew him didn’t think it was something unusual. After all, the younger Go graduated summa cum laude in BS Accountancy from De La Salle University – Manila. He had also been a member of the Jose Rizal Honors Society and a consistent honor student as well as gold medalist.
Currently in Japan, accompanying Pres. Rodrigo Duterte for the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito, Bong proudly praised his son and recognized the sacrifices he made in school.
“I am very proud of my son. Hindi ko mailarawan ang kaligayahang nadadama ko ngayon,” Bong said.
“Matapos ang ilang taong pag-aaral, nagbunga din ang sakripisyo. Bilang isang ama, wala akong ibang hinahangad kundi makitang matagumpay ang aking mga anak.”

Even as he congratulates his son for landing in the third spot on the CPA board exam, Bong jokes that they now have something in common, referring to his rank during the May senatorial race.
“Nagkataon na pareho kaming top 3— ako noong nakaraang halalan at siya ngayon naman sa CPA licensure exams,” he shared.
Congratulations to all CPA board passers, especially to Christian Go and his proud dad!
