Everyone knows how difficult it can be to graduate from college, yet a blind woman made it sound so easy after graduating as summa cum laude and magna cum laude from two courses! Wow. Isn’t that impressive?
Although she was born blind, Minnie Aveline Juan did not this challenge shape her future. It helped a lot that her parents, Dr. Angelo Juan at Dr. Maria Lilia Juan, both gave her the opportunity to live a normal life along with her three siblings.
She might be blind but the smart Minnie worked so hard in school that she graduated from elementary and high school with honors. Those medals are proof that anyone can achieve their dreams, no matter the circumstances.
But she didn’t stop at high school. She had bigger dreams. She enrolled at Trinity University of Asia in Quezon City with the course of Bachelor of Arts in English. It amazed everyone when she graduated as magna cum laude from the course!
Yet this inspiring young woman still had other plans. She wanted to help others like her also have the opportunity to learn despite the challenges they are facing. So, she took up Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Special Education at Virgen Milagrosa University in San Carlos, Pangasinan.
If people were amazed that she graduated as magna cum laude with her first course, they were in awe after Minnie completed her second degree as summa cum laude! What an impressive young woman.
Today, she continues to be an inspiration to others. She is teaching special education students at Virgen Milagrosa University, providing them a way to learn despite not being able to see.
She is also happily married and now has one child. Truly, her story is a wonderful inspiration to many. Congratulations, Ms. Minnie!
