5-Year-Old Kid Goes on Php5k Shopping Spree, Mom Discovers More Items in Shopee Cart

Like many parents these days, mom Cassandra Nichöle Alegre lets her 5-year-old son play with a cellphone. In fact, he has his own phone. But this mom would soon discover that it is best to log out apps like the popular online shopping site, Shopee, before handing a phone to a kid!

This mom didn’t know whether she should laugh or cry when she discovered that her son Yves had a shopping spree on Shopee – and she now has to pay nearly Php5,000 for it! What’s rather hilarious is that the boy ordered three pieces of the same toy and six of mini air conditioning units.

Alegre was left scratching her head over what she should do with these six mini air conditioning units. LOL.

Because Shopee gives customers the option to pay on a COD basis (cash on delivery), the kid was able to easily checkout the items. Alegre was surprised to discover that the seller had already processed the items and sent these to the courier; leaving her with no option but to set aside money for the purchase.

But minutes after discovering that her son went on a Php5k shopping spree that’s now on the way to their house, Alegre found more items in the Shopee cart! It was a good thing little Yves was not able to click ‘Checkout’ yet on these items, because Alegre would have trouble paying for the items as many of the stuff the boy picked were over Php10,000 each! Uh oh.

There’s a Vivo X21 smartphone priced at Php15,279 – and the boy ordered four units! He also ordered 59 units of licensed Ford Ranger toy (in orange) worth Php13,999 and two more of this same toy in black. Yves also put 25 units of a rechargeable camouflage jeep, priced at Php8,999 each.

The kid had really gone on a shopping spree, adding a lot of items in the cart. Some were just 1 or 2 units each, but even cheaper products like a toy car worth Php442 would still be very expensive to pay because the kid got 26 units.

Yves also ordered 40 units of another remote-controlled toy. He also got 10 pairs of an original Nike Air Jordan 3 shoes in size 31 and another 10 pairs of Nike Jordan shoes in size 41!

That’s not to mention 32 units of a Chinese tablet worth Php3,599 each, 12 units of another tablet brand, plus 1 unit of Globe prepaid wifi. And there’s so much more in the cart.

Alegre is sooooooo lucky her son wasn’t able to click ‘Checkout’ on all these items on the app — that’s over Php1 million in the Shopee app shopping cart! Whew! You’ve got to admit this is both so cute and so frustrating, but at least she only has to pay for Php5k.

But Yves is certainly the cutest shopper on Shopee! How about you make this kid your model, Shopee? He’s so cute!
