The first moment I laid my eyes on the photo, I thought it was a shar pie with a vacuum mouth. Turns out it’s called Tardigrades (also known as waterbears or moss piglets) which are water-dwelling, segmented micro-animals, with eight legs. These tiny little creatures can survive in extreme environments that would kill almost any other animals, and can go without food or water for more than 10 years. And you know what’s more cool about them? They are the first known animal to survive in space.
