In this day of internet and social media, it really is much easier to connect with people who are located across the globe, anytime you want to. And it’s even much easier now to find someone, with the help of strangers.
A woman named Brianna (@briannacry) from Mississippi recently asked Twitter for help in finding her childhood best friend.
Thinking it would be a good idea to connect with her best friend again, she thought Twitter might be a good place to seek for help. So, she shared a photo of them as kids in a cruise back in 2006 and hoped that someone might eventually recognize the other girl.
“Hey Twitter, I met this girl on a dinner cruise in Hawaii in 2006. We were basically best friends for that night so I need y’all to help me find my best friend cause I miss her and I need to see how she’s doing now. Please retweet this so we can be reunited,” Brianna wrote.
That night, Brianna fell asleep with the post only getting 9 retweets. She thought nothing about it but was shocked to wake up the following day to discover that the post had been liked and retweeted several thousand times.
The post has since received more than 270k likes and over 119k retweets, leading to Brianna actually finding the other girl in less than 24 hours. Wow.
A woman named Heii (@heii_tree) replied to Brianna’s tweet with a photo of her family taken during that cruise as proof that she really was that girl in the picture!
“Heard you were looking for me,” Heii wrote. She later joked, “It’s been literal years since I was last on Twitter and the first thing I see is a search party for my ass.”
What a happy ending for these two! They plan on catching up on the years they lost but now that Brianna found her long-lost friend through Twitter, she jokes about finding someone else through social media as well – a husband! LOL.
