Though the mother had been holding the child as they stepped out of the elevator, the kid managed to step away from his mom to explore around. As his mom was distracted by a phone call, the kid went to the balcony and looked through the railings.

But because he was so small and there was no glass behind the railings, the kid easily slipped through the gap. He would have fallen headfirst from that 4-story balcony, if not for his mother’s lightning-fast reflexes! Whew.

The woman leaped into action, catching her son’s leg just seconds away from him falling away from grasp. A delivery man who was with them on the floor immediately rushed down the stairs, presumably to catch the kid from the lower floor or save him, somehow.

Thankfully, the mom was able to catch the kid in time and managed to pull him to safety even as three ladies from the construction company rushed to their aid. Whew!

The video has gained mixed reactions on the internet, with many expressing amazement over the mom’s quick reflexes. A lot were also happy that the boy was safe, with many calling the woman as “Mom of the Year”.

But others pointed out that she was busy on her phone and wasn’t watching her kid when the incident happened. This could have ended up really badly. Yet many moms defended her, saying accidents happen anytime and had happened even before cellphones became a distraction.

At the end of the day, what’s important is that the child was safe…
