When we skip shower for a day, or miss to brush our teeth even just once, some of us feel gross, thinking how unhygienic we are. But did you know that back in the days, people did not bathe everyday, never used mouth-refreshing toothpaste, and didn’t even have toilet tissues?

We compiled some of the appalling hygienic practices of the Medieveal era, and for someone who values cleanliness and hygiene a lot, learning about their habits would raise a quizzical eyebrow. But our ancestors survived those habits for they can only use what was available to them. Let’s have a look at how they kept their sanitation in check. Afterall, we don’t have to experience the same, anyway.
