A lot of Filipinos have followed the wonderful journey of The TNT Boys, the three boys who were finalists on Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids (TNT Kids) but went on to win the grand prize, as a group, in Season 2 of television contest program “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids”.
Francis Concepcion, Mackie Empuerto, and Kiefer Sanchez, known as The TNT Boys, truly impressed netizens with their performances. They even received praise from no less Queen’s Brian May as well as the Bee Gees for their cover of the artists’ songs.
The boys have already performed on international shows like the “Little Big Shots”, but they have recently wowed the world again with their amazing performance of Beyonce’s “Listen” on the new American talent competition, “The World’s Best”.
Their effortless performance on the show garnered them an overall score of 99, 49 points of which had come from the primary American judges and the rest came the approval of all the 50 international judges that comprise the show’s so-called “Wall of the World”.
“First of all, you have some serious attitude. You’re so precious and so sweet but when you were singing, you were in that song, you were like, bam!” singer Faith Hill told the boys.
It was obvious even from the start that Faith Hill truly loved the boys’ performance.
Drew Barrymore also felt the same thing, saying she found the boys amazing and that she really has a soft spot for kids, making her love these talented ones more.
“You possess a gift. You’re just that good!” Drew told The TNT Boys.
The show’s host, James Corden, joked that he wants to join the group while a judge who had previously worked with Beyonce told everyone he thinks the singer would readily invite the group to perform on her next concert.
Acknowledging that the kids come from the Philippines, James called on Pinoy music icon Pops Fernandez to comment on their performance.
“I am so proud right now to represent the Philippines. On behalf of the Filipinos, guess what? I know for a fact that you can be The World’s Best,” Pops said.
After garnering a nearly perfect score, the boys move on to the next round – but it seems that even early into the competition, they are already going to be crowd favorites!
