Marielle Slagel Keller is an Indianapolis school teacher who had an extremely different wedding – in a good way; she didn’t have only one ring bearer and flower girl but twenty! How did this happen?
Well, she invited all her students from IPS Butler Lab School from kindergarten and first-graders to join her to walk down the aisle on her most special day. Her marriage was held over the summer break.
According to Huffington Post, her sister does calligraphy and did a personal invitation for each of her students with their name and a message that says ‘Will you join me in wearing white?’ Her students were really excited for their dear teacher’s big day. Little boys and girls wore white and carried garlands down the aisle.
According to Indianapolis Public Schools’ website, Marielle said, “They (her students) mean the world to me. The kids and their families were part of the whole wedding planning process with me and gave me so much support along the way. They are a huge part of who I am and it would not have felt right to not have them there.”
After the wedding ceremony, Marielle with her husband, Mike Keller hosted a small cupcake reception just for the parents and their parents.
