Students Praised for Feeding Hungry Kid Who Only Had Php4 for Lunch

What can Php4 buy these days? Not much, really! It could buy around 2-4 pieces of candy or some small snacks, but definitely not a full meal or even a cup of rice.

A hungry kid who only had Php4 for lunch shyly went to a fried chicken stall at a sidewalk near his school to buy some food. He picked up a stick of chicken, asking the vendor if he could only pay Php4 for the food.

Seeing that the kid looked really hungry, the vendor let the kid enjoy the chicken even if he could not pay in full.

Watching the scene unfold in front of them, a group of students who were also eating at the fried chicken stall took pity on the kid. They were not rich – that’s why they knew exactly how this kid felt. He was hungry and tired; he didn’t even have uniform for school, yet he went there, anyway!

So, the friends contributed money for the kid so they could buy him a proper lunch, as shared by Thirdy Echenique Dela Torre III. Then, the teens took their kind deed a step further by buying a pair of slippers for this little boy. They also got him some white t-shirts plus a ball when they saw how he longingly looked at the toys another kid was holding at the store.

The post went viral, with many people praising the teens for their kind deed. Many hope that other kids would be like them, ready to help others in need even if they didn’t even have a lot of money!
