Student Goes Viral after Being the Only One to Attend First Day of School

Everyone had been hoping the resumption of classes after the long Christmas break of 2018 would be moved to January 7, Monday, but the Department of Education (DepEd) announced that classes were scheduled to resumed on January 3, 2019.

This led to a number of students joking about not attending the first day of school for the year – and one student even ‘erased’ January 3 from the calendar, to ‘solve’ many students’ dilemma. LOL.

But it seems that many of the students were serious on their ‘jokes’.

A teacher in Binalonan, Pangasinan shared a photo of his classroom wherein only one student came back to school! Oooops. Netizens had a good laugh after the teacher shared the photo on Facebook, especially because of his candid caption.

January 3… may long quiz pa sana ngayon…tsk..

#MayFirstHonorNaAko 🤔🤔🤔,” teacher Chito Marquez Grullo wrote as caption for the photo, featuring just one student in the otherwise empty classroom.

Netizens praised the young boy for going back to school – and the teacher even gave him extra points for that! Cool.

But others joked that this one must have been left out of the chatgroup because he didn’t know that all his classmates were planning on being absent that day. LOL.

In the afternoon, though, no one attended the teacher’s class! Ooooops. Feeling a bit frustrated, he snapped another photo of the classroom and once again posted this on Facebook.

At tumigil ang mundo….nang Wala nang pumasok ngayong hapon🤔🤔🤔

Wala nang first honor… first honor neto😡😔😔

January 3,” Grullo wrote.

Both photos had gone viral, with netizens urging him to relax and simply enjoy the fact that he really had nothing to do for that day because his students were all absent.

The teacher did relent and seemed to have been half-joking about being angry with his students for being absent. But he cautions everyone to come back to school on Monday, saying that it would really be “back to reality” for the students, come next week.
