The parents have found compatible bone marrow for their daughters and the donor is now undergoing medical check. A surgery for one child costs 500,000 yuan ($75,000) excluding other post-surgery treatments. Combining their own money and the amount they were able to borrow from their relatives and friends, the couple were only able to raise 200,000 yuan ($30,000).

Since only one of them will have the chance to undergo surgery, Wang Yue decided that it should be her younger sister. She told her parents that she is giving up all her treatments to save her sister and that it does not matter if she will not undergo treatment.

She even gave her savings to her father to combine with the funds raised for the surgery.

A fund-raising campaign was initiated to help the family raise enough funds to cover the surgery of both girls.
