Filipinos are known worldwide for being kind, compassionate, and being excellent workers, no matter what field of work they might be doing – and many have certainly proven this for the world to see!
Russell Manalastas, service crew of Jollibee-Matar Qadeem branch in Qatar, went viral for going the extra mile for an old customer who could not feed himself.
Another overseas Filipino worker (OFW) working in Doha captured the kind deed and shared this on Facebook where it would quickly go viral.
In the post, Marie Grace de Jose explained that she was at the Jollibee outlet with her husband when they noticed the old man come in and sit at a table near where they were eating.
The couple were enjoying their meal when they noticed that several service crew arrived at the old man’s table to bring his food. One of them would prepare the old man’s meal, then proceeded to patiently feed him!
Impressed by what she saw, Marie Grace snapped some photos to share on her social media page. According to Marie Grace, she felt proud to be Filipino at that very moment as she saw how this young Jollibee worker treated this customer.
“Happening now: Nag dinner kami ng husband ko dito sa Jollibee Qatar sa matar qadeem branch at eto ang nakita ko!! sa ganitong pag kakataon nakaka proud maging pinoy!! kahit saang parte ng mundo the best parin ang pinoy at ang Jollibee!!! bida ang saya!! kudos to you sir Russell Manalastas, service crew of Jollibee-Matar Qadeem branch. #jollibeeqatar #bidaangsaya,” Marie Grace wrote on her Facebook account.
What amazed her even more is that after the meal, Russel and other service crew assisted the old man in getting up and going outside, possibly to fetch a cab to bring him home.
It was truly a beautiful “Proud to be Pinoy!” moment…
