Sean Doyle, a chef at the Artisan Cookhouse in Downpatrick, United Kingdom, was just having fun with friends as they placed bets on Paddy Power’s online game ‘Mars Attacks’ on Wednesday night, February 13.
Suddenly, the numbers came back – and Doyle won! The 33-year-old chef had been playing the game for 6 months, yet this was the first time he’s actually won something big on the game. It would soon turn out that this win would be the biggest online win in the company’s history. Wow.
But as his winnings trickled in on the mobile app, Doyle watched with his friends until the count bar reached £1 million ($1.3 million). After that, as the winnings continue to trickle in, he actually turned his off! LOL. This guy is something.
Then, he went home so he could rest for his job the next day. Knowing it was going to be a busy day at work as it was Valentine’s Day, Doyle didn’t have the heart to abandon his boss and colleagues on this important day.
At 9AM, he was already there and ready to start the shift! Wow.
Upon checking his phone, he found that his winnings amounted to £4,283,863.55 ($5.5 million). So, he celebrated the win with his co-workers as they opened a bottle of champagne.
Now super rich, Doyle still had his feet firmly planted on the ground. He even plans to share the money with many people after taking enough for capital to start his own restaurant business.
“You wouldn’t believe the amount of people’s lives I’m going to change with this win,” the lucky man shared.
“My sister is a single parent in New Zealand with three kids so I’m delighted because this means I will be able to help her out. I also have three brothers, my parents and a few aunts and uncles too. I might set up my own shop, probably a café, which would mean I can down scale and relax more.”
This man’s family are quite lucky as he really plans to share a significant chunk of the winnings with them. Let’s hope they will use the money wisely and won’t demand more than what he is planning to share…
