A lot of parents complain about their kids spending more time on their gadgets these days and that these kids often ask for new gadgets as gifts for special occasions, especially important milestones like graduations.
This is the reason why a graduate recently went viral after he chose a goat instead of gadgets as gift for his graduation day!
Proud big brother Alvin Gaoiran Robiniol shared how he was surprised when his younger brother, Alwytz Robiniol Gaoiran, asked for a goat; thus, he happily granted the boy’s wish and got him a pregnant goat so he would have more animals to care for soon.
Tinanong kita kung anong gusto mong regalo. Akala ko cellphone, tablet, o kahit ano mang klase ng luho ang isasagot mo. Natuwa ako nang sinabi mong gusto mo ng kambing para may alagaan ka.
So heto na yun. Tinotoo ko yung promise ko. Alagaan mo yan, paramihin mo. Buntis yan. Simula pa lang yan ng pagpaparami natin ng mga alaga. Baka sana ang ibibigay ko, kaso di pa kaya ng budget.
Who knows, after ilang taon, may sarili na tayong farm, db? Basta magsipag ka lang, kakayanin natin ‘to.
Congratulations ulit, Alwytz. Yes, I practice favoritism, at alam mong ikaw ang paborito kong kapatid. Love you, our future engineer.
How I wish nandiyan ako ngayon.
According to The Summit Express, Alwytz loved taking care of animals but though his father, Ronnie, is a farmer at their hometown in Buyon village, Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, they could not afford to have farm animals. His mother, Brigida, works as domestic helper in Kuwait, but her salary is barely enough to make ends meet for Alwytz and his seven siblings.
Alwytz enjoys taking care of the family pets but had always wanted to have his own goats. He asked their OFW mom last Christmas for a goat, but their money just wasn’t enough to get him one.
So, on his graduation day, big brother Alvin finally fulfilled his dream – and the big smile on his face was proof enough that this was truly the graduation gift he wanted.
Congratulations, Alwytz! Always keep your feet firmly planted on the ground. We’re proud of you, young man…
