Fans disappointed with ‘Game of Thrones’ finale

The final episode of the American fantasy drama television series “Game of Thrones” was aired on May 19, 2019. Many fans were disappointed with how the story ended. They are demanding a remake of the Season 8.

The 80-minute series finale produced by HBO saw Daenerys Targaryen turning into a “Mad Queen” just like her father, or maybe even worse.

She wanted to avenge her trusted friend, Missandei. She also realized that Jon Snow was a threat to her claim to the Iron Throne.

With the help of Drogon, she burned King’s Landing and all of its people.

Siblings and lovers Cersei Lannister and Jaime Lannister both met unexpected and sudden end as the castle fell down on top of them.

To stop Daenerys from further causing destruction, Jon Snow stabbed her. So instead of becoming the King of the Seven Kingdoms, he was sent back to the Night’s Watch after the crime he committed.

Drogon melted the Iron Throne before flying away to an undisclosed location with Daenerys’s body.

The leaders of the Westerosi kingdoms elected Brandon Stark to become their ruler. Thanks to Tyrion Lannister’s suggestion, the Three-Eyed Raven became King Bran the Broken.

He will rule the Six Kingdoms after Sansa Stark decided that the North would be an independent kingdom. She became the Queen of the North.

Arya Stark decided not to stay in the North or in King’s Landing. She sailed west, where all maps stop. There was no sign if she would ever return to her family.

Grey Worm and the Unsullied set out for Naath, the island where Missandei came from. They were supposed to go and live there peacefully together. Still, he kept his promise to her.

The final episode was the most watched episode on HBO with 13.6 million viewers. However, it received a 59% rating in Rotten Tomatoes.

Many fans expected a more dramatic ending. They believe that Season 8 should have been longer to end the story properly.

But for Kit Harington who played Jon Stark, the series finale was an honest depiction of what would happen in Westeros.

For Sophie Turner who played Sansa Stark, the final episode was great and very satisfying.
