Chris Wright’s mother, Judy, died last August 9 because of complication due to Parkinson’s disease. As their way of paying gratitude to the care, love, and respect given by the nursing aide to their mother while she was still alive and fighting for her life, they decided to help her finished her studies.
As a means to raise funds, the Wright family asked friends and family to help them raise $1,000 to send nursing aide TunDe Hector to a nursing school to complete her studies, instead of bringing in flowers for their mother.
They also put up a post on YouCaring on the said cause. Within minutes the goal of $1,000 was already surpassed and as friends and family shared the post on social media, they were able to raise $8,000 in less than a week.
When presented with the check, TunDe could not help but be overwhelmed with tears, as she thanked the family. She said that she was so worried about how she was going to pay for the school.
Chris said that up to this time, family, friends, and even strangers are continuously contributing to the site and more than $20,000 has been raised by 463 donors to help TunDe complete her education.
