Dad Can’t Afford to Buy Backpack, Impresses Netizens with String Bag He Made for Son

Parents would do anything and everything to provide their kids with everything they need, as much as they could. Yet there really are times when parents are so broke that they can’t buy the things the kids really need.

One dad recently went viral for the impressive string bag he wove for his son because he couldn’t afford to buy him a brand-new backpack.

In a post that has gone viral on Facebook, a certain Sophous Suon shared pictures of the bag used by a young kid in going to his school in Battambang province, Cambodia. The beautifully woven piece was created by his dad from raffia strings that come from a fibrous plant similar to abaca.

The kid was identified as Ny Keng, a first-grade pupil at Lumphat Primary School in Cambodia.

According to the teacher, the boy’s father admitted that they were too poor for him to buy a brand-new bag for his son. But because he wanted the boy to have something he could use for school, this dad took some raffia strings which he wove into this bag.

While the bag was simple, it impressed a lot of netizens – especially because it was a beautiful labor of love from a father to his son.

Indeed, while this dad was not able to buy the boy a new bag, what he gave was something more precious than any bag sold today! This is definitely priceless!

The creative dad caught the internet’s attention, with several netizens saying that if he was too poor and possibly don’t have a job or just earning very small wages, he could actually make a living out of making woven raffia bags – and this could bring him a lot of money.
