Work hard for your dreams – and you’ll soon reap the fruits of your success!
Jobless and out of school at the age of 18, Ador Adrian Gabrieles promised to send his girlfriend Aira Arcamo to college so they can both fulfill their dreams in the future. He became a bagger/messenger but later learned English to be a call center agent so he could support her in school.
As Aira graduates from college this April 2019, Ador joined her photoshoot for graduation as he also feels that he has graduated after supporting her for 4 years. Their story went viral; though many laughed at Ador for sending his girlfriend to school, saying she would probably leave him once she graduates from college and finds a guy with a better job.
The couple hails from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. They were on their way to Marilao, Bulacan on a jeep when Aira suddenly cried after receiving a text message from her sister.
How could an 18-year-old jobless young man send his girlfriend to school? Easy! He found a job.
Holding on to their mutual dream, Ador applied for jobs – and found one as a bagger/messenger for Sanford Marketing or Savemore.
From Bagger/Messenger to Call Center Agent
As he was nearing his ‘endo’ (end of contract) at Savemore, Ador pushed himself to learn English so he could become a call center agent as he knew this would give him a much better salary.
With Aira taking Bachelor of Arts in English Language, he asked her to teach him English. But because he felt embarrassed that he often forgets what she teaches him, he studied hard on his own.
His determination paid off. He would soon be accepted at a call center! He now had better means to support Aira; though the people who mocked him for sending her to school remain at the background, laughing at him for being foolish.
But these two held on to their love.
Ador explained that he sent Aira to school to prove to her parents that he had good intentions and that he could provide for their daughter and their future family, even if he still hasn’t finished college.
Aira would recently post an explanation after Ador’s post went viral. According to Aira, she and Ador had plans – and that includes a reversal of roles as she would soon be the one to send him to school when she finds a job.
